Biorobotics and Disability: Lombardy Region Hosts Conference on Assistive Technologies

On Thursday, 26 March 2026, the Regional Council of Lombardy will host a conference titled “Biorobotics in Support of Disability: New Technological Frontiers and the Tariff Nomenclature”.

The event will bring together researchers, clinicians, patient advocates, and institutional representatives to explore how biorobotics can improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, while also addressing the regulatory and reimbursement framework governing assistive devices in Italy.

Institutional greetings will be delivered by Federico Romani, President of the Regional Council of Lombardy, and Paola Pizzighini, Regional Councillor and member of the III Health Commission. The session will be moderated by journalist and RAI Paralympic Games commentator Claudio Arrigoni.

Speakers include leading experts from the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa (Giuseppe Turchetti and Matteo Cianchetti), researchers from the Italian Institute of Biorobotics (Chiara Storchi), and representatives from ERN BOND, Marco Sessa, LEDHA, Associazione Raggiungere, and DYSNET Dysmelia Network. Italian Paralympic boccia champion Mirco Garavaglia will also participate.
